Dare to go back when director Mike Flanagan continues the story of Danny Torrance, 40 years after his terrifying stay at the Overlook Hotel in “The Shining” with “Doctor Sleep,” a screenplay based on the novel by Stephen King.

Still irrevocably scarred by the trauma he endured as a child at the Overlook, Dan Torrance (Ewan McGregor) has fought to find some semblance of peace. But that peace is shattered when he encounters Abra (Kyliegh Curran), a courageous teenager with her own powerful extrasensory gift, known as the “shine.” Instinctively recognizing that Dan shares her power, Abra has sought him out, desperate for his help against the merciless Rose the Hat (Rebecca Ferguson) and her followers, The True Knot, who feed off the shine of innocents in their quest for immortality.

The Director’s Cut which is available on the 4K UHD and Blu-ray editions, plus through select digital partners features nearly 30 minutes of new, alternate and extended scenes, selected by director Mike Flanagan, not seen in the cinema.

The supernatural thriller “Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep” stars Ewan McGregor (“Star Wars: Episodes I, II & III,” “Trainspotting”) as Dan Torrance, Rebecca Ferguson (the “Mission: Impossible” films, “The Greatest Showman”) as Rose the Hat and Kyliegh Curran (“I Can I Will I Did”), in her major feature film debut, as Abra. The main ensemble cast includes Carl Lumbly (TV’s “Alias,” “A Cure for Wellness”), Zahn McClarnon (“Strike One,” TV’s “Into the West”), Emily Alyn Lind (TV’s “Revenge,” “Enter the Void”), Bruce Greenwood (“Star Trek,” “I, Robot”), Jocelin Donahue (“The House of the Devil,” “Insidious: Chapter 2”), Alex Essoe (“Starry Eyes,” “House of Lies”) and Cliff Curtis (“Sunshine,” “The Dark Horse”).

Tilda Swinton, Ewan McGregor, Christoph Waltz & More Reportedly Join Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Pinocchio’

Guillermo del Toro might be knee-deep into production on his upcoming film, “Nightmare Alley,” his first since winning the Oscar for “The Shape of Water,” but that film isn’t the only project the filmmaker has been working on lately. In addition to the live-action “Nightmare Alley,” del Toro is also on board to direct a stop-motion animation version of “Pinocchio” for Netflix. And according to a new interview at a recent Comic-Con in Vienna, we now know who might be providing some voices for that film.

According to the Polish outlet Na Ekranie, actor David Bradley reveals that he will voice the character of Geppetto in the upcoming “Pinocchio” from Guillermo del Toro. In addition, Bradley, who is probably best known for playing Walder Frey in HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” reveals that he’ll be joined in the voice cast by the likes of Ron Perlman, Christoph Waltz, Tilda Swinton, and Ewan McGregor in the film. Unfortunately, we’re not sure which role each actor will voice.
