Panda Plan (2024) is a fun and light-hearted action-comedy that sees Jackie Chan back in top form. Playing himself, Jackie attends the adoption ceremony of a rare baby panda, but the event quickly turns chaotic when an international crime syndicate attempts to kidnap the bear. Using his trademark stunt skills and comedic timing, Jackie fights to protect the panda, delivering plenty of laughs and exciting action sequences along the way. The film embraces its playful tone, never taking itself too seriously, and features clever moments of self-awareness where Jackie pokes fun at his age and career.
While the story is simple and engaging, the film does have a few minor drawbacks. Some of the CGI used to animate the baby panda feels unpolished, occasionally breaking the immersion. Fans may also be disappointed by the absence of Jackie Chan's traditional end-credit bloopers, which are often a highlight of his movies. Despite these issues, Panda Plan is a heartfelt and entertaining ride that showcases Jackie Chan's enduring charm and ability to entertain audiences of all ages.
