Rob Brydon, Rupert Graves, Martin Kemp, Patsy Kensit and Cathy Tyson join the cast of ITV’s McDonald & Dodds

Rob Brydon, Rupert Graves, Martin Kemp, Patsy Kensit and Cathy Tyson have joined the cast for the first film of ITV's McDonald & Dodds, alongside leading actors Jason Watkins and Tala Gouveia.

Filming is underway on the second series of the contemporary detective drama following the success of the feature-length films which aired earlier this year on ITV, produced by leading independent production company, Mammoth Screen, an ITV Studios company.

The new series sees Tala Gouveia (Cold Feet) and BAFTA award winning actor  Jason Watkins (The Lost Honour Of Christopher Jefferies, The Crown) reprise their roles as the smart and ambitious DCI McDonald and the humble, and quietly brilliant DS Dodds in three new murder mysteries.

Festival news: Arrow Video FrightFest announces bumper line-up for its October 2020 Digital edition

Arrow Video FrightFest will go virtual for the second time in 2020, having taken the decision to cancel its planned physical event at the Cineworld, Leicester Square, due to continuing COVID restrictions. The forty-five feature film line-up will merge the in-cinema selection with brand new titles to provide an online festival experience from Oct 21-Oct 25.

As with the August Digital event, the programme will be split between The Arrow and Horror Channel Screens, with the addition of a third, the Zavvi Discovery Screen. Pass holders will be able to choose what to watch across all three screens with the additional bonus of the Wednesday night features. All films, including the two Short Film Showcases, will be streamed as live, and only once. All films are geo-locked and can only be viewed in the UK.

Grantchester returns to ITV as filming begins in Cambridgeshire

Filming for the sixth series of the hugely popular crime drama Grantchester has commenced in Cambridgeshire, Hampshire and Hertfordshire.

With Robson Green returning as DI Geordie Keating and Tom Brittney as Grantchester's Reverend Will Davenport, the series resumes in 1958 with the crime fighting duo renewing their partnership to solve new cases.

In the first episode of the new series, Geordie, Cathy and their family, Will, Leonard and Mrs C take a much needed holiday together. However, what sets out to be a  fun-filled break for everyone at a holiday camp, is interrupted by a tragic death at the resort. Geordie and Will are left with no choice but to help out, as an investigation into the death begins. As events unfold on the trip, there will be serious repercussions for the rest of the series.

Schemers - Scored the highest new entry in the UK Box Office

British Indie film Schemers, the true story of Dave McLean's first foray into the music business as a promoter in 1979, hit cinemas on Friday and scored the highest new entry in the UK Box Office charts amidst a deluge of positive reviews, features around the true story and interviews with the fresh acting talent. Indeed, Mark Kermode labelled Conor Berry as "a star on the rise" and predicts "seeing more of him on the big screen in the future".
 
The first full length feature film to be made in Dundee, Schemers follows Davie (Conor Berry) who is constantly hustling for his next buck, then losing it on the horses. After a football injury, Davie falls for trainee nurse Shona (Tara Lee) and tries to impress her by running a disco. Along with friends John and Scot, the trio start promoting bands – culminating in a hugely ambitious Iron Maiden gig at the Caird Hall, Dundee. With ambition so grand they go deep in debt with Fergie, a gangster of legendary violence, Davie needs to use every trick to pull off the biggest scheme of his life.

David Walliams, Sheridan Smith and Blake Harrison lead the cast for Sky One’s newest instalment Jack & The Beanstalk: After Ever After

Following last year's hilarious Cinderella: After Ever After, Sky has announced the commission of two further instalments of the entertaining, family-friendly specials for Sky One and NOW TV; Jack & The Beanstalk: After Ever After and Hansel & Gretel: After Ever After.

Sky Original Jack and the Beanstalk: After Ever After will air this coming Christmas on Sky One and streaming service NOW TV and production is due to start next month. The Christmas special stars David Walliams, Sheridan Smith and Blake Harrison and is produced by King Bert Productions. It's created and written by The Dawson Brothers and David Walliams, who takes on the role of the Giant in this reimagining of the classic tale. Alongside Walliams, Sheridan Smith (Cilla, Cleaning Up, The Royle Family) stars as The Woman with No Name, the self-proclaimed greatest giant-killer in the village and Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners, Trust Me) as Dodgy Dave, a shifty market stall trader who sold Jack the magic beans. Netflix Announces The Original Anime Series 'RESIDENT EVIL: Infinite Darkness' Coming In 2021

Known as the gold standard of survival horror games with over 100 million units from the game series shipped worldwide, Resident Evil has now been transformed into a Netflix original CG anime series.

This series is scheduled for a global launch in 2021 exclusively on Netflix. Three years after 2017's CG film Resident Evil: Vendetta, technology has further evolved, creating the groundwork for a new series in unprecedented full 3DCG animation.

Since the first game was released in 1996 on Sony PlayStation, the Resident Evil series is nearing its 25th anniversary. With the series continuing to evolve even now, a new title carves itself into the series' history. This series is entitled RESIDENT EVIL: Infinite Darkness.

This new series will be produced and supervised by Capcom's Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who is responsible for bringing numerous titles in the Resident Evil series into existence. TMS Entertainment, which has birthed various anime series, will produce the series, while Quebico, led by Kei Miyamoto, the producer of Resident Evil: Vendetta, will be in charge of the full 3DCG animation production.
