Channel 4 to embark on Sex Odyssey (w/t) with Alice Levine

Channel 4 is to go under Britain's bedsheets to find out what turns the nation on. In a 3x60 series from Mindhouse Productions, broadcaster Alice Levine will be asking whether there's any such thing as "normal" when it comes to sex and sexuality in the 2020s.

Since lockdown, there's been a 900% increase in Brits searching for couples' sex toys while subscriptions to webcam services have skyrocketed. And when asked what we're most excited to do when life returns to normal, kinkier sex is a top priority. Is Britain finally shaking off its old conventions on sex?

To answer that question, Alice - co-creator of the internationally renowned podcast 'My Dad Wrote a Porno' - will immerse herself in the lives of sexual adventurers up and down Britain, meeting those pushing the boundaries of sex, intimacy and relationships.

In the series, executive produced by documentary-maker Louis Theroux, Alice will be invited into the nation's bedrooms, challenging her own preconceptions and discovering what happens when the shackles of sexual conformity are abandoned.

Alice Levine said: "It's a real honour to be the first presenter Louis is working with as an executive producer, especially after so many years watching his programmes. We are both fascinated by the contradictions of people's lives - the strange and transgressive, next to the mundane and ordinary, in one person's story. I hope that these films will be both warm and funny, surprising and sensitive. And if we can take the taboo out of talking about sex, that's a huge bonus."

Louis Theroux, Executive Producer said: "I've always seen films themed around sex as the most challenging but when you get them right the most rewarding. Our sexual interests are arguably the most fundamental aspect of who we are and we're living in a time when a lot of our assumptions are being rethought. This is a chance to examine all of that, and doing it with a presenter whose warmth, wit, intelligence, and sensitivity make her an ideal guide through sometimes difficult terrain."

The Columnist - Exclusive UK Trailer - On Digital 12th March

Starring Westworld's Katja Herbers, THE COLUMNIST, a stand-out at last year's FrightFest, is a savagely satirical, gory and wholly thrilling look at what happens when the victim of online abuse says "enough is enough".  Smartly scripted and slicky directed, with some wonderfully pitch-black set pieces, it sits nicely alongside women-turn-the-tables hits Prevenge, Revenge, Promising Young Woman, and the recent Danish release The Exception.
Featuring a fantastic performance from Herbers, and a scene-stealing Bram van der Kelen as the author of shock horror novels, THE COLUMNIST is sure to provoke debate around the prescient topic of social media's impact on basic civility. It's Death Wish for the online generation, and you'll be cheering as Herbers gets the next foul-mouthed victim in her sights.

Synopsis:

Newspaper columnist and author Femke Boot is suffering from writers' block, and her mood isn't improved by the torrent of abuse and death threats she receives daily on social media. When she discovers that her obnoxious, loud neighbour is one of the anonymous people posting vile comments, she snaps and takes matters into her own hands. As she finds herself able to write again, she sets out on a mission - track down the trolls and deliver some swift, polite and deadly vengeance.

Interview with Chris Bell - Director of The Heiress

Ahead of the UK Digital release of THE HEIRESS on March 15, 2021, director Chris Bell talks about familial horror influences, his South London 'hooligangster' phase and learning new lockdown skills.

How did you get the idea for THE HEIRESS?
I was in my local library when I came across a painting. The artist was a local lady. I was drawn to this eerie artwork and I knew I had to meet her. When we did meet I told her that I was going to write a film inspired by this painting. Not only that but I promised to feature her in the movie – and I did just that.

Myself, alongside Danny and Kelly Prescott, created the script for what became The Heiress. I'd arranged a meeting with producer Jezz Vernon, whom I had recently worked with on another movie. We pitched the script to him and from there he came on board.

REVIEW: Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition on PC (Steam)

Nioh 2 has you playing as a Samurai as you fight against a seemingly endless supply of Yokai (think monsters and evil spirits). The basic point of the game is to create your Samurai character and go on an epic adventure across Japan during the Sengoku period (1467 to 1615)

This game is an action RPG and really does have an epic feel to it.

"Nioh 2 contains an original profound story surrounding military commanders from the Sengoku period. However, Nioh 2 goes above and beyond its predecessor by including the new Yokai Shift ability which allows the protagonist to utilize new powerful forms to defeat even the most formidable yokai in battle. New to Nioh 2, your enemies can now create a Dark Realm which raises the stakes of battle and creates new challenges for your protagonist to overcome."

As this is the complete edition, all of the DLC content is throw in, The Tengu's Disciple, Darkness in the Capital, and The First Samurai, as well as everything from the original Nioh 2 PS4 game.
